Crossing the same leg over the other. Most of us do this without thinking, but if you consistently put the same leg on top, you may create an imbalance in your hip muscles–one side is tighter than the other. When your hip muscles are tighter on one side than the other, your back may compensate and you’ll end up with back pain. When you’re sitting, think about switching up which leg ends up on top. This may be uncomfortable at first, but keep at it until it makes no difference which leg ends up on top.
